MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Mentorship Program - RISE started its “Mentorship Program” in 1990.  Since then we have mentored thousands of youth.   The program provides mentors for youth from the ages of 7 to 20 both male and female.  We were one of the original programs under the Giuliani Administration’s New York City Mentoring Partnership.  Our programs have attracted both mentors and mentorees.  All mentors and mentorees go through an interview process where they are screened and then we look to make the proper matches.

We ask mentors to commit to at least one year.  Each cycle we expect to provide mentors for 50 –75 youth.  While our program generally works with males, female mentors are also provided as needed.  Our mentors are asked to be on call 24 hours a day.   In addition we provide support and have many activities that assist with establishing the relationship between the mentor and the mentoree.

Program operated with the New York Volunteer for Youth Campaign (Big Brothers & Big Sisters).
